Vice-President of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas, warned on Thursday that the war on Iran will not benefit any country.
"They are right now in between this very dangerous zone of war and peace, and it is not in anybody's interest that this war continues," Kallas told reporters at a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Cyprus.
The broadcaster alleged the ships attempted the journey to enter the Persian Gulf “without coordination with the security forces” at 12:35 am local time.
Moscow and Kyiv have frequently attacked each other's ports and tankers since the start of the war. Neither country immediately claimed responsibility for the newly reported attack.
