Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said Tehran has entered negotiations in Islamabad “in good faith” despite deep mistrust of the United States, according to remarks carried by the IRNA news agency after his arrival on Friday.

Ghalibaf, who is leading Iran’s delegation in the talks with US officials, cited Washington’s failure to fulfil commitments in previous negotiations.

He said any agreement would depend on assurances that past issues are not repeated.
