Latvian military reports drone entering from Russia and exploding
Latvia’s defence authorities reported an unidentified drone entering from Russia and later exploding, with debris discovered in the Krāslava district.

Latvia's Air Force has reported a violation of its airspace by a drone from Russia, debris from which was later found in the Krāslava district.

Details: An unidentified drone entered the country's territory from Russia.
"Early warning systems detected a sound similar to an explosion in the Kraslava district," the statement said.
Units from the National Armed Forces, the State Police and the State Border Guard are at the scene.
Debris from the drone was also found. No civilians were injured and no damage to civilian infrastructure was reported. The circumstances of the incident are being investigated.
The Latvian Ministry of Defence also assured people that there is no further threat to civilian safety or to Latvia's airspace.
Background:
On 23 March, a drone, likely from Belarusian territory, entered Lithuania and exploded in Lake Lavysas, over 20 km from the border. Lithuanian radar systems did not detect it.
Lithuania's Ministry of Defence suggested that it may have been a Ukrainian drone among those sent to strike targets in Russia, which deviated from its course due to electronic warfare.
Later, Lithuania's prime minister confirmed that it was indeed a Ukrainian drone, apparently one of those heading to strike Primorsk near St Petersburg.
