From the founding of Israel in 1948 until 2017, a poster competition was a classic feature of Independence Day, with the government choosing a winner each year. In 2017, Miri Regev, then the culture minister, decided to replace the annual poster with a logo – and two years later, the poster competition disappeared completely.
Officials said the decision to pre-record the event was made in light of the ongoing ceasefire and the broader security situation, with attendance limited to the soldiers’ families.
Following the report of the attack, the IRGC issued a statement to Iranian state news, declaring that they are prepared to confront any new aggression.
