The remark by the outgoing director of Israel's Mossad intelligence agency, David Barnea, that "the connections between staffers in the Prime Minister's Office and Qatar did not harm state security," is outrageous. My colleague Anat Kamm was on the mark in writing about the difficulty that the average Israeli has in trusting it under the current circumstances. It seems to be a parting gift from Barnea to Netanyahu, whom he loyally and devotedly served.
