A Russian overnight missile and drone attack on Kyiv killed one woman and injured two others. Emergency crews continued to battle fires caused by the strikes.
Kyiv City Military Administration chief Tymur Tkachenko initially warned shortly before midnight that Russia had launched a ballistic missile attack on the capital, urging residents to remain in shelters. He later said Russian attack drones were also approaching Kyiv.

During the attack, officials reported at least one person had been injured. By morning, Tkachenko confirmed that a woman had been killed and two people wounded.
Ukraine’s State Emergency Service said the woman’s body was found while firefighters were extinguishing a blaze at one of the impact sites in Kyiv’s Sviatoshynskyi district. Authorities said the circumstances surrounding her death are being established.
As of 8:30 a.m. local time, firefighters were still working to extinguish fires at two locations in the Sviatoshynskyi and Desnianskyi districts.
The attack damaged residential buildings, a garage cooperative, several vehicles, including a patrol police car, as well as a tram depot and several trams.
Ukrainian police deployed mobile assistance points near the affected areas to receive reports and claims from residents whose property was damaged in the attack.
