Russian forces shelled Ukrainian border guard units 250 times over the past day, including 150 attacks carried out with drones.
According to Ukrinform, this was stated on television by Andrii Demchenko, Spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
Speaking about the border guard forces’ area of responsibility, Demchenko said that the heaviest fighting is currently taking place in the Pokrovsk sector.
“In recent days, the enemy has been carrying out their most active assault operations in the Pokrovsk sector. However, they have been unable to advance deeper into our country through the positions held by border guard units,” Demchenko said.
At the same time, he noted that the border areas of the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions remain under constant shelling, mainly involving drones.
“Over the past day, the enemy shelled border guard units 250 times, including 150 attacks specifically carried out with drones. A large share of the shelling is concentrated in the border regions within the Sumy and Kharkiv regions. The Chernihiv region sees somewhat fewer attacks, although shelling occurs there daily as well,” the Spokesperson said.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, the State Border Guard Service says Russian forces have failed to establish a buffer zone along the border.
