Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Sunday congratulated Péter Magyar and the Tisza party on their landslide victory in Hungary’s parliamentary elections, pledging cooperation with the incoming government.
“Congratulations to Péter Magyar and the Tisza party on their resounding victory. It is important when a constructive approach prevails,” Zelensky wrote on Telegram.

Ukraine has always sought good-neighborly relations with European states and stands ready to expand cooperation with Hungary, Zelensky said. He called on European nations to grow stronger and said he was prepared for direct meetings with the new government.
“We are ready for meetings and joint constructive work for the benefit of both nations, as well as peace, security and stability in Europe,” he said.
Magyar’s center-right Tisza party secured 138 seats in the 199-seat parliament with 53.6% of the vote, with 97.35% of precincts counted, while Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s Fidesz party took 55 seats with 37.8%. Orbán, who had held power since 2010, conceded defeat Sunday.
