Belarus increased gasoline supplies to the Russian market to a record high in June, Russian business daily Vedomosti reported, as Moscow sought to offset domestic fuel shortages on July 6.

From June 1-25, Belarus exported 141,000 metric tons of gasoline to Russia, 2.4 times the total volume shipped during all of May.

However, those supplies are unlikely to meet demand in Russia's fuel market, Vedomosti reported.

By comparison, Belarus exported just 1,000 metric tons of gasoline to Russia in June 2025.

As previously reported, amid Russia's fuel shortage, the price of Belarusian AI-92 gasoline supplied to Russia rose sharply.

Russia has also begun importing gasoline by sea from India to ease fuel shortages caused by Ukrainian strikes on its energy infrastructure.

On June 28, Vladimir Putin acknowledged for the first time that Russia was experiencing gasoline supply problems following Ukrainian drone strikes on oil refineries.

According to Reuters, Ukrainian attacks have caused a severe fuel shortage and reduced Russia's domestic gasoline production by 25%.

On June 1, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukrainian strikes had hit 15 Russian oil refineries since the beginning of the year, leaving nearly 40% of Russia's primary oil refining capacity offline as of May.
