General Staff says Ukrainian forces struck Ilsky refinery, Russian vessel in Crimea

Ukraine's Defense Forces struck the Ilsky oil refinery, a Pantsir-S1 air defense system, and a Russian vessel in temporarily occupied Crimea.

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said this in a post on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

Ukrainian forces carried out strikes on a number of important Russian military and infrastructure targets on June 1 and overnight on June 2.

In particular, the Ilsky oil refinery in Russia's Krasnodar region was hit, with a confirmed impact followed by a fire at the site. The extent of the damage is still being clarified.

The refinery is one of the largest oil-processing facilities in southern Russia, with a processing capacity of around 6.6 million tonnes of crude oil per year. It produces petroleum products used, among other things, to supply the Russian military.

Ukrainian forces also struck a Pantsir-S1 surface-to-air missile and gun system in Vydne, Crimea.

In addition, strikes were carried out on a drone depot in Shakhtarske (Donetsk region), as well as UAV command posts in Ustinka (Belgorod region, Russia), Luhove (Zaporizhzhia region), and Hola Prystan (Kherson region).

Ukrainian troops also targeted concentrations of Russian manpower in areas including Shyrokyne, Berestok, and Komar in the Donetsk region, Maliivka in the Dnipropetrovsk region, and Lokot in Russia's Kursk region.

Separately, the General Staff confirmed damage from a Neptune cruise missile strike on May 31 against the Novoshakhtinsk refinery in Russia's Rostov region, including hits on two primary oil refining units (AVT-1 and AVT-2), which caused a fire at the facility.

Updated information also indicates damage to the Lazarevo oil pumping station in the Kirov region, including two 50,000-cubic-meter storage tanks and buildings of main pumping stations.

At the Saratov refinery, strikes on May 31 reportedly damaged the AVT-6 primary processing unit.

Additionally, a Russian ship was hit overnight on June 1 in its base area near Mizhvodne in occupied Crimea. Preliminary reports suggest it may be a degaussing vessel, with damage still being assessed.
