The Israeli military said that it had killed two Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad operatives in a "precise strike" in Gaza last week, alleging that the members, Hussein Qadra and Mohammed Farra, were part of a Hamas-run financial network that facilitated the transfer of more than 500 million shekels ($170 million) to the group's military wing.

Later on Saturday, a spokesperson for Vance announced that he and his wife, Usha Vance, had departed Washington. They have landed early on Sunday at Burgenstock, the Qatari-owned Swiss resort where the talks are being held.
