A Facebook page for rentals and sublets in the artsy, bohemian town of Pardes Hannah-Karkur in central Israel tells a story of the times: "Looking for a sublet with a safe room for a mother and two children from Sunday onward," reads one recent post. Another, "Does anyone have a same-day sublet? For at least a week."
