Azerbaijan has expressed "serious concern" over Israel's official recognition of the Armenian genocide by Turkey on Sunday, warning that such decisions "undermine efforts to achieve lasting peace and stability in the region."

In a statement released early on Monday, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry called on Israel "to reconsider this decision."

"The distortion of the historical facts surrounding the events of 1915, and the reduction of a complex historical issue to a political decision without a sound legal or scholarly basis, are unacceptable," the ministry said in a statement.

Iran warns Bahrain against 'playing with its fate' after U.S. base strike

An adviser to Iran's supreme leader issued what he called a "serious warning" to Bahrain overnight Monday, threatening that Tehran would respond with greater force if provoked following its strikes on a U.S. Navy base in the Gulf kingdom.

"A serious warning is being given to the Bahrainis to know their limits and not play such games with their own fate, and not force Iran to adopt harsh decisions," Ali Akbar Velayati, top adviser to Iran's supreme leader, was quoted as saying by the semi-official Tasnim News agency.

Iran said its strikes on the U.S. base in Bahrain on Friday and Saturday were retaliation for U.S. attacks on its territory. Tehran has accused Washington of using military bases in Gulf states to launch operations against Iran, a claim Gulf countries deny.

Syria condemns Israeli incursions, says attacks 'terrorized civilians'

Syria's Foreign Ministry condemned Israeli incursions into the southern provinces of Quneitra and Deraa and artillery shelling in the area, saying the attacks "terrorized civilians" and constituted a "flagrant violation" of Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

"The continued attacks undermine efforts to promote security and stability, increase the suffering of civilians in the affected areas, and risk further escalation and tension across the region," the ministry said in a statement shared by the SANA news agency.
