Republican U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham has died at the age of 71.
According to Ukrinform, this was reported on the senator’s page on the social media platform X.
"On the evening of Saturday, July 11, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham passed away from a brief and sudden illness. Senator Graham's family appreciates prayers at this time and asks for privacy during this incredibly difficult period," the Office of U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham stated.
According to Bloomberg, Graham had served in the Senate since January 2003. Before that, he served in the House of Representatives from 1995 to 2003 and was a member of the South Carolina Legislature.
As reported by Ukrinform, on July 10, Lindsey Graham was in Kyiv, where he met with President Volodymyr Zelensky, among others. This was Graham’s tenth visit to Ukraine.
