Al Jazeera correspondents on the ground have reported multiple Israel strikes targeting southern Lebanon’s major cities of Nabatieh and Tyre on Thursday.
The Lebanese army released a statement that one soldier has been killed in an Israeli strike on southern Lebanon.
This comes during a renewed intensifiation of attacks on southern Lebanon as Israel released forced evacuation orders to residents and troops have advanced beyond the "Yellow Line" buffer zone further into Lebanese terroritory.
The broadcaster alleged the ships attempted the journey to enter the Persian Gulf “without coordination with the security forces” at 12:35 am local time.
Moscow and Kyiv have frequently attacked each other's ports and tankers since the start of the war. Neither country immediately claimed responsibility for the newly reported attack.
