The contract sets Latvia-specific sustainment processes, roles, services, and products to ensure the fleet’s long-term readiness.
Latvia and Patria have finalised a life cycle support (LCS) agreement covering the Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) 6×6 vehicles operated by the Latvian National Armed Forces (LNAF).
The contract outlines specific sustainment processes, services, products and responsibilities tailored to Latvia’s requirements, ensuring continued operational readiness of its armoured fleet.
The new agreement builds on the 2024 life cycle management (LCM) contract established between Finland, Latvia, and Patria, which was subsequently joined by Sweden and Denmark.
In November 2024, Latvia’s Ministry of Defence agreed to procure 56 more Patria 6×6 armoured command and control vehicles in a contract valued at over €60m ($63.38m).
Under the latest arrangement, all local and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) level sustainment activities for the vehicles are now managed within a single contract.
Patria Latvia country manager Ugis Romanovs said: “Through the CAVS programme, Latvia’s security of supply in armoured 6×6 vehicles will be exceptionally strong, supported by ongoing local vehicle assembly since 2022, a completed maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) technology-transfer programme in 2025, and the establishment of a dedicated spare parts stock capable of supporting both peacetime and crisis conditions.”

The contract fully aligns with the broader CAVS programme’s life cycle management framework and meets Latvian supply security needs.
The multinational initiative, launched in 2020 under Finnish leadership, currently comprises Finland, Latvia, Sweden, Germany, Denmark, the UK, and Norway. Vehicles developed through this programme are also operational in Ukraine.
Patria leads the development of the 6×6 armoured vehicle system within the programme.
Last month, Patria delivered the first five CAVS 6×6 armoured vehicles to the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) under the CAVS programme.
