The number of people injured in a Russian attack on the city of Odesa has risen to 18, including a child. Two of them are in a critical condition and remain in intensive care.

Quote from Lysak: "Sadly, 16 people have been injured, including a 17-year-old boy. Two people are currently in intensive care in a critical condition and doctors are fighting to save their lives. One man has been hospitalised in the trauma unit."

Update: Kiper later reported that 18 people had been injured, nine of whom have been hospitalised.

Details: Russian forces struck residential neighbourhoods and civilian facilities in different parts of the city.

"The heaviest damage was recorded in the Prymorskyi district. A high-rise building and a five-storey residential building were damaged here: large fires broke out on the upper floors and the roof, which firefighters managed to contain. Houses and residential buildings in the central part of the city were also damaged," Lysak said.

A kindergarten sustained significant damage, while a shopping centre, a hotel and office buildings were also affected.

Lysak added that dozens of buses and cars were destroyed or damaged at several car parks.

Strikes hit infrastructure facilities, warehouse buildings and a garage cooperative in the Khadzhybeiskyi district.

As of now, 68 emergency response vehicles and over 280 personnel from emergency and municipal services are involved in dealing with the aftermath of the attack.

Background: Russian forces attacked Odesa with drones on the night of 29-30 April, damaging residential areas and civilian infrastructure and, according to early reports, injuring at least six people.
