Russia Hits Dnipro With Drones and Missile, Damages Infrastructure Nationwide

Russian forces struck multiple regions with drones and a ballistic missile overnight into Friday, with central Ukraine’s Dnipro among the hardest hit.

In Dnipro, a fire broke out following the attack and was later contained, regional governor Oleksandr Hanzha said. A transport enterprise, residential building and commercial property were damaged, along with city infrastructure, including a trolleybus.

One person, a 29-year-old man, was injured and is receiving outpatient treatment, according to officials.

Additional strikes in the Dnipro district damaged a school, private homes and vehicles, injuring two more people. Around the city of Nikopol, attacks hit several communities, damaging infrastructure, residential buildings and an agricultural enterprise.

Later, Hanzha said that another man was injured in the morning attack on Dnipro. The 28-year-old was hospitalized in moderate condition.

Since the start of the week, 33 people injured in Russian strikes on the city remain hospitalized, including 10 in serious condition.

Strikes reported in Odesa, Kherson

In southern Ukraine’s Odesa region, Russian drone strikes damaged port, transport and residential infrastructure, regional governor Oleh Kiper said. Fires broke out at multiple locations, including near the Danube Biosphere Reserve, but were later extinguished.

At least six private homes and administrative buildings were damaged. No casualties were reported.

In the Kherson region, a 70-year-old man was injured in a drone strike while riding a bicycle near a village, regional authorities said. Another man, 63, was injured in shelling earlier in the morning and hospitalized.

Air defense intercepts majority of drones

Ukraine’s Air Force said Russia launched 172 drones and one Iskander-M ballistic missile overnight, with around 120 identified as Shahed-type drones.

Air defenses shot down or suppressed 147 drones across the country, though strikes were recorded at multiple locations.

According to preliminary data, a missile and about 20 drones hit targets at 8 locations, with debris from intercepted drones falling in several areas.

The latest strikes follow a large-scale Russian attack overnight into Thursday, which caused significant casualties across multiple cities. In Dnipro, 5 people were killed and 26 were injured. In Odesa, 8 people were killed and 22 were injured. In Kyiv, 4 people were killed, including a 12-year-old boy, while 45 people were injured, with 26 hospitalized.
