Russian Attacks Kill 8 in Dnipropetrovsk Region Overnight

Russian overnight strikes on Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region killed eight people and injured 11 others, regional governor Oleksandr Hanzha said on Wednesday, May 13.

In a morning update, Hanzha said Russian forces carried out nearly 30 attacks across three districts of the region overnight, damaging homes, infrastructure, vehicles and industrial facilities.

Nikopol, Kryvyi Rih and Synelnykove districts hit

In the Nikopol district, Russian attacks targeted Nikopol and several surrounding communities, injuring three people, including a 16-year-old boy hospitalized in moderate condition.

The Synelnykove district also came under attack, with more than 20 homes damaged. Two people were killed there overnight.

Another four people were killed in a separate strike on the district the previous day, while four others were injured, including a 50-year-old man reported to be in serious condition.

In Kryvyi Rih, strikes damaged an industrial enterprise, infrastructure and a gas pipeline. Two people were killed and four injured, Hanzha said.

Ukraine downs 111 Russian drones overnight

According to Ukraine’s Air Force, Russia launched 139 drones overnight, including Shahed drones, decoys and other unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) from multiple directions, including Russia and occupied Crimea.

Ukraine’s air defenses shot down or electronically suppressed 111 drones by 8 a.m., the Air Force said.

Officials reported confirmed drone strikes at 13 locations and falling debris at four sites, while warning that dozens of drones remained in Ukrainian airspace as the attack continued.
