According to Suspilne, at least two people were injured in the attack. Regional authorities confirmed that the drones struck a civilian facility, with a rescue operation ongoing.

Head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration Oleh Hryhorov said Russian forces carried out the strike with two attack UAVs and warned that the threat of further attacks remains.

Ukraine’s Air Force earlier reported incoming drones approaching Sumy from the north.

Russian forces launched a wave of attacks across Ukraine early on Wednesday, despite a “silence” regime proposed by Volodymyr Zelensky.

Explosions were reported in Dnipro shortly after midnight, as drones launched before the deadline continued flying over the city, according to Ukraine’s Air Force and monitoring channels.

Overnight, drone activity was also recorded in Kharkiv Oblast, while from around 4 a.m. Russian forces began dropping guided aerial bombs on the Sumy, Kharkiv, and Donetsk regions, followed by additional strikes in the Zaporizhzhia region after 5 a.m.

According to the Air Force, Russia launched two Iskander-M ballistic missiles, one guided air-launched missile, and 108 drones, including Shahed-type UAVs. Ukrainian air defenses shot down or suppressed 89 drones, while strikes and debris were recorded across multiple locations.
