Russian strikes leave 4,500 consumers without electricity in Zaporizhzhia region

Yesterday evening, Russian attacks cut power to about 4,500 subscribers in two settlements of the Zaporizhzhia region.

According to Ukrinform, Zaporizhzhiaoblenergo reported this on Telegram.

"Yesterday evening, the occupiers struck the village of Balabyne in the Zaporizhzhia district, causing extensive damage to civilian infrastructure, including Zaporizhzhiaoblenergo's energy equipment," the statement said.

It is noted that fragments from enemy guided aerial bombs (KABs) damaged several overhead power lines. As a result, 4,500 households in two settlements of the Zaporizhzhia district were left without electricity.

"Emergency repair work has already begun, and crews are working to fix the damage. If new strikes do not interfere, we will restore electricity by the end of the day," said the head of the regional power company, Andrii Stasevskyi.

He added that during Monday and Tuesday, energy workers restored power to 12,400 homes. Work to ensure stable electricity supply continues around the clock.

As Ukrinform previously reported, on April 7, five people were injured in the Zaporizhzhia district as a result of shelling.
