Ukrainian forces struck southern Russia and Russian-occupied Crimea with drones and missiles overnight on May 27.
Air defenses in Sevastopol began repelling the attack around 1 a.m., said Mikhail Razvozhaev, the Russia-appointed governor. The city was targeted with drones and Storm Shadow missiles, he said.
One of the missiles hit the building housing the Southern branch of Russia’s central bank, setting the roof ablaze. The blast wave damaged a neighboring eight-story residential building.
