Ukrenergo: Russian strikes cause new power outages in six regions

As of the morning of April 3, power outages have affected users in six regions due to drone attacks and artillery shelling.

According to Ukrinform, the NPC Ukrenergo reported this on Facebook.

"The enemy continues to attack energy infrastructure. As a result of drone and artillery strikes on energy facilities, there are new power outages in the Sumy, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions as of this morning. Where safety conditions currently permit, emergency repair work is being carried out," the statement reads.

It is noted that as of 9:30 a.m. on Friday, electricity consumption is 7.9% lower than the previous day’s level. This is due to the need to implement consumption restriction measures. Specifically, from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., power restriction schedules for industry are in effect across all regions of Ukraine. Additionally, hourly power outages are in effect for all user categories from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

“Given the weather conditions, the need for energy conservation remains throughout the day. Please limit the use of high-power electrical appliances as much as possible during the evening peak consumption period—from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.,” Ukrenergo noted.

It is also reported that due to adverse weather conditions, four settlements in the Poltava region were completely or partially without power this morning. Repair crews from the regional power company are already carrying out emergency restoration work.

As previously reported, the Cabinet of Ministers has extended the special obligations regarding the sale of gas at a fixed price for new electricity producers using natural gas located in frontline regions until September 30, 2026. Also, the Cabinet of Ministers removed from the regulation the provision regarding the supply of gas at a fixed price for all thermal power plants, combined heat and power plants, gas piston and gas turbine facilities.
