The Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported that the United States will supply Israel with about 10,000 advanced precision weapon kits worth nearly $1bn.
The systems are designed to convert air-to-ground missiles into precision-guided munitions capable of targeting aerial threats, including some drones.
The report said the systems could improve interception capabilities but would not be effective against smaller, vision-based drones that have posed challenges to Israeli forces in southern Lebanon.
In an interview with 103FM’s Nissim Mishal and Anat Davidov, the school’s principal, Amir Les, added that the suspect had been released the same day, but “ won't be returning to the school at all."
