Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian troops engaged in 256 combat clashes over the past day, July 5.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook in an operational update as of 8:00, July 6, as cited by Ukrinform.
Russia carried out 96 airstrikes, dropping 292 guided aerial bombs. In addition, Russian forces used 8,825 kamikaze drones and conducted 2,913 shelling attacks, including 37 using multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS).
Airstrikes were recorded in the areas of Ulanove and Tovstodubove in the Sumy region.
Ukrainian aviation, missile forces, and artillery struck 14 clusters of Russian personnel and three artillery systems.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, Russian forces launched two assaults, carried out one airstrike with a guided aerial bomb, and conducted 48 shelling attacks, including two MLRS strikes.
In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, Ukrainian units repelled 12 attacks. Russian forces attempted to advance near Starytsia and Vovchansk, as well as toward Lyman, Radkivka, Khatnie, Izbytske, and Shevchenkove.
In the Kupiansk sector, Russian troops carried out two attacks toward Novoosynove and Novoplatonivka.
In the Lyman sector, Russian forces launched nine attacks near Stavky and Dibrova, as well as toward Hrekivka and Novoselivka.
In the Sloviansk sector, Russian troops conducted 33 assaults, attempting to advance near Zakitne, Kryva Luka, and Riznykivka, as well as toward Rai-Oleksandrivka.
No assault actions were recorded in the Kramatorsk sector.
In the Kostiantynivka sector, Russian forces carried out 16 attacks in areas including Rusyn Yar, Pleshchiivka, Ivanopillia, Kostiantynivka, and Illinivka, as well as toward Oleksandro-Shultyne and Stepanivka.
In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian forces repelled 30 attacks near Bilytske, Novooleksandrivka, Serhiivka, and toward Myrne, Novopavlivka, Shevchenko, Kotlyne, Novopidhorodnie, Kucheriv Yar, Vilne, Novyi Donbas, Dorozhnie, Hryshyne, and Udachne.
In the Oleksandrivka sector, Russian troops conducted four assaults toward Voskresenka, Novohryhorivka, Oleksandrohrad, and Verbove.
In the Huliaipole sector, Russian forces launched 21 attacks, attempting to advance near Rybne, Zaliznychne, and Novoselivka, as well as toward Charivne, Pryvilne, Hirske, Rizdviane, and Kopani.
In the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian defenders stopped one Russian attempt to advance toward Plavni.
No offensive actions were recorded on the Dnipro River sector.
No signs of Russian offensive group formation were detected in the Volyn and Polissia sectors.
Earlier, the General Staff reported that Russia’s total combat losses since February 24, 2022, have reached approximately 1,411,050 personnel.
