Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has confirmed a second strike on an oil refinery in the Russian city of Ufa.
According to Ukrinform, he announced this on Telegram.
"For the second time, our sanctions in response to Russia's prolongation of the war have reached the oil refinery in Ufa, one of Russia's largest producers of lubricants. The distance is more than 1,300 kilometers from the frontline," Zelensky said.
He also stated that Ukrainian weapons struck a strategic facility in Russia's Penza region that develops and manufactures components for missile systems used by Russian forces to attack Ukrainian cities and communities.
"The distance to the target is about 600 kilometers from the frontline," he said.
According to Zelensky, Ukraine is carrying out its plan for daily long-range "sanctions," calling them a just response to Russia's actions against Ukraine.
"Peace is needed, and this is exactly what Russia's leadership must realize. Russia must end its war. And Russia’s leadership has every opportunity to do so. I thank every Ukrainian warrior who ensures our long-range accuracy," Zelensky said.
On June 25, Zelensky confirmed strikes on the Poltavskaya oil depot in Russia's Krasnodar region and on two oil refineries in Ufa – Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim and Bashneft-Novoil.
