Ukraine's air defense forces neutralized 124 of the 155 drones launched by Russian forces against the country beginning on the evening of June 7.
According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Telegram.
Military officials stated that from 18:00 on June 7, Russia attacked Ukraine with 155 unmanned aerial vehicles, including Shahed attack drones, as well as Gerbera, Italmas, Banderol, and Parodiya decoy drones. The drones were launched from the directions of Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), and Hvardiiske in temporarily occupied Crimea.
The air assault was countered by Ukrainian aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 08:00 on June 8, Ukrainian air defenses had shot down or electronically suppressed 124 enemy drones in northern, southern, and eastern regions of the country.
Authorities recorded successful strikes by 20 attack drones at 17 locations, while debris from intercepted drones fell at six separate locations.
The attack was still ongoing at the time of the report, with approximately 10 enemy drones remaining in Ukrainian airspace.
As Ukrinform previously reported, a Russian drone strike overnight on June 8 partially destroyed a Ukrposhta logistics hub in Kharkiv.
