As the war with Iran unfolded, many Americans reached a familiar conclusion: Israel was once again pulling Washington toward a conflict it did not want. Yet many Israelis were arriving at the exact opposite conclusion as they watched U.S. President Donald Trump publicly constrain Israeli options, dictate red lines, negotiate agreements and insist that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu follow Washington's lead.
