The Sumy community has declared the Day of Mourning for those killed in a Russian airstrike.
According to Ukrinform, Artem Kobzar, acting mayor of Sumy, announced this on Telegram.
“In the light of the tragedy caused by an enemy strike with guided bombs on the Zarichnyi district of Sumy, today, July 12, the Day of Mourning has been declared in the Sumy city territorial community,” Kobzar wrote.
He noted that the Russian attack claimed the lives of five civilians. Among the dead was a 13-year-old girl.
Kobzar expressed his condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims.
As reported by Ukrinform, on July 11, the enemy struck Sumy with guided aerial bombs; five people were reported killed and 31 wounded.
