From Lebanon to Gaza, leaders promise military victories they can't deliver

The issue of disarming Hezbollah is no longer a security issue or a matter of strategy. It is more an article of faith – something between a man and his maker, or between a person and his favorite senior defense official. Anyone who still believes in the promises of politicians, ones made despite the warnings of the army, must be a person of great faith.
