Israel’s military on Tuesday said that Division 36 of the army has joined "expanded ground operations” in southern Lebanon, as fighting with Hezbollah intensifies along the border.
Israeli forces carried out air strikes and artillery shelling on targets in southern Lebanon before the division moved into the area, the army said in a post on the US social media company X.
The deployment is part of a broader effort to expand what the military described as a “forward defense area,” with additional divisions, including the 401st Brigade, taking part in targeted ground operations across southern Lebanon.
