An Israeli soldier was killed in an accident involving a military vehicle in the village of Rab al-Thalathin in southern Lebanon, the IDF announced on Thursday.
"The Foreign Ministry is conducting a situation assessment with the relevant authorities in Israel and is examining the options for assistance," the statement said.
The operation changed the course of history as it was the impetus for US President Donald Trump to pull out of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal shortly after the operation's results were revealed.
Reuters quoted National armaments director Urs Loher as telling a press conference that it would not be Israel's Arrow defense system.
