At least nine people were killed and eight wounded in US strikes in Iran’s Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province, according to Fars news agency.
Citing a medical official, Fars reported that five people were killed and eight wounded in Koh Siah in Kohgiluyeh County, while four others were killed in the Vazg and Kakan areas of Boyer-Ahmad County.
Al Jazeera reported that the US has been conducting attacks in Iran’s Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province, where the rescue operation for the missing US airman from the downed F-15E jet took place.
President Donald Trump confirmed the rescue of the second crew member from the downed F-15E fighter jet, saying, “WE GOT HIM! … SAFE and SOUND!”
He added the officer “sustained injuries, but he will be just fine,” and said the mission involved “dozens of aircraft.”
