Russian forces shelled the Sumy community early on Sunday morning, leaving six people injured.
Head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration Oleh Hryhorov reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.
According to Hryhorov, Russian forces have been conducting continuous drone attacks on the Sumy region since overnight, including strikes on the regional center.
“In the morning, the enemy carried out what was preliminarily an artillery strike on the territory of the Sumy community. Six residents have already sought medical assistance. A 58-year-old woman has been hospitalized. The others received treatment without being admitted,” he said.
Authorities reported at least six strike locations within the community. At least five residential buildings were damaged in the attack; damage assessments are ongoing.
As previously reported, Russian forces struck the outskirts of Sumy on June 20 with guided aerial bombs, killing one person.
