Six residents of southern Israel have been indicted for smuggling weapons, drugs, cigarettes and other contraband from Egypt and Jordan using drones, according to the prosecutor's office.
The indictments indicate that the defendants were involved in a large number of smuggling operations, during which dozens of weapons were smuggled into Israel along with drugs and cigarettes; some weapons were sold for tens of thousands of shekels.
The prosecutor's office filed a request with the court that the suspects be held in detention until the end of the court proceedings.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that the "ultimate goals" of ongoing negotiations and military operations with Iran are to ensure Tehran "can never have a nuclear weapon," adding that the Islamic regime's naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz is "illegal" under international law.
"If we allow that to become normal, we would be normalizing an unacceptable status quo and setting a dangerous precedent," he said at a press conference in New Delhi, India.

He said, "The president has been clear about that: they will never possess a nuclear weapon."
Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, he said, "It's an international waterway; they don't own it."
"What they are doing now is basically they are threatening to destroy commercial vessels using an international waterway, that is illegal under any concept of international law that governs us," he said.
Regarding an update about a memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran, he said there will be "news coming out a little bit later today" and "I'll leave it to the president to make further announcements."
A senior Iranian source told Reuters on Sunday that Tehran has not agreed to hand over its highly enriched uranium stockpile. The source said Iran's nuclear issue was not part of the preliminary agreement with the United States.
"The nuclear issue will be addressed in negotiations for a final agreement and are therefore not part of the current deal. There has been no agreement over Iran's highly enriched uranium stockpile to be shipped out of the country," said the source

A preliminary memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States stipulates that the number of ships able to transit the Strait of Hormuz would return to the pre-war level within 30 days, according to Iran's semi-official Tasnim news agency.
The naval blockade must be completely lifted within 30 days according to a memorandum , Tasnim said, adding that part of Iran's frozen funds must be released in the first phase.

The IDF announced it struck and "dismantled three Hamas weapon storage facilities in the central Gaza Strip," which included anti-tank missiles, long-range weapons, RPGs, vests and other combat equipment.
The IDF added that on Wednesday, it struck and dismantled an additional Hamas weapons storage facility that held explosives, RPGs, hand grenades and gun magazines.
A gunman who fired at a White House checkpoint was shot by officers and died after being taken to the hospital on Saturday evening, the Secret Service said.
The man approached the checkpoint at 17th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue near the White House, pulled a gun out of his bag and started shooting at officers, according to a Secret Service statement sent to Reuters. Officers returned fire and shot the suspect, the agency said.

The gunman was identified as 21-year-old Nasire Best, two sources briefed on the matter told MS NOW. He was transported to George Washington University Hospital, where the Secret Service said he later died.
Best was previously known to the Secret Service and had an order to stay away from the White House after a 2025 incident, the sources said.
