Svyrydenko: Enemy targets energy facilities, oil and gas infrastructure, railways, and industrial sites

The main targets of the enemy attack on the night of May 5 were energy facilities, oil and gas infrastructure, railways, and industrial sites; there were casualties and injuries.

According to Ukrinform, Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko reported this on Telegram.

“Efforts are currently underway in Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Kherson, and other regions to address the aftermath of the massive Russian strikes that occurred overnight. All necessary services have been mobilized. The main targets were energy facilities, oil and gas infrastructure, railways, and industrial sites—strikes by drones and missiles have been recorded on these targets,” the statement reads.

Civilian infrastructure has also been hit: homes, transportation, and businesses have been damaged.

According to preliminary data, five people were killed, and 39 were wounded. The situation is most critical in the Poltava region: Workers and rescue personnel were killed in a strike on a gas production facility, and dozens more were wounded. There are also casualties in the Kharkiv region.

As the prime minister emphasized, Russia’s ceasefire proposals remain mere statements. The reality is nightly strikes on critical infrastructure and civilian facilities.

“These attacks demonstrate once again that protecting critical infrastructure and strengthening air defense remain our top priority,” Svyrydenko noted.
