The US president warned Iran that the US military was prepared to "completely decimate and destroy" the country if Tehran carried out or attempted an assassination against him.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump claimed that "1,000 missiles are locked and loaded" and aimed at Iran, with "thousands more" ready to follow if the Iranian government acted on what he described as threats made "in many corners of the globe" to assassinate the sitting US president.
"Orders have already been given, and the US Military is ready, willing, and able, for a one year period of time, subject to extension, to completely decimate and destroy all areas of Iran," Trump wrote.
He ended the post with "Praise be to Allah!"
