A man and a woman in their 70s were killed in Ramat Gan after being hit by shrapnel from Iranian missile interceptions early Wednesday morning, according to Magen David Adom.

Five others were lightly wounded during the attack, reported Israeli police.

According to Israeli media, eight suspected shrapnel impact sites were reported following the missile barrage.

Israeli Fire and Rescue services reported that a number of cars were set on fire after a power line was downed by a cluster missile in Holon.

Chief Fire Officer Oshri Bason said that the fires had occurred next to a residential building, but that there were no injuries.

Israel Railways reported shrapnel falling near the Tel Aviv Savidor Center train station, causing some damage to the station's platforms.

Trains to and from the station have been suspended, with shuttle services operating between Herzliya, Tel Aviv Savidor Center, and Ben Gurion Airport.

A Magen David Adom vehicle operating in central Israel was also hit by shrapnel resulting from missile interceptions.

IDF Search and rescue forces are operating at several sites in central Israel where reports of impacts have been received, according to the military. Additionally, firefighting teams have been dispatched to several districts in the Dan area, in addition to Ramat Gan and Savidor train station.

Five major impact sites were recorded in Ramat Gan, according to the district's municipality.

"A tough night for Ramat Gan," said Mayor Carmel Shama Hacohen. "We are being hit with barrages, but this seems to be a deadly multi-launch barrage. I am at the central site, and it is a difficult scene. The picture is still unclear, the injuries are severe, and people have been hurt. We are deeply saddened and are focused on managing the situation at all the sites in the city. I urge the public to follow the instructions and protect your lives."

Commander of the Home Front Command Shai Klapper called the impact in Ramat Gan a "very difficult site" during his visit to the area.

"Two civilians were killed in the incident, and I offer sincere condolences to their families," he said.

Klapper thanked Ramat Gan City Council and emergency services for their "quick and professional response," and clarified that Home Front Command forces continue to operate at every impact site, conducting searches and providing aid to civilians.

This is a developing story.
