The Ukrainian Ground Forces are not preparing for the mobilization of women and are not developing any mechanisms aimed at such a process.
The Ukrainian Ground Forces announced this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.
In recent days, Ukrainian media and online platforms have seen a surge in reports claiming that preparations are underway to mobilize women into the military. This information is unfounded, manipulative, and is being used by the enemy to undermine mobilization efforts and discredit the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the statement said.
According to the Ukrainian Ground Forces, "no changes have been made to Ukrainian legislation regulating this process. Women can join the Armed Forces of Ukraine exclusively on a voluntary basis, and only those with medical or pharmaceutical education are required to be registered for military service."
After the first case in which a Ukrainian woman was mistakenly entered into the military register without having the relevant qualifications, the Ground Forces command launched an internal investigation to determine the cause of the error. It was found that incorrect data had been entered into the Oberih system in 2021. Further analysis revealed a number of similar cases involving incorrectly generated records.
"At the same time, it is currently impossible to correct such information at the relevant territorial recruitment and social support center. The Oberih information system does not have the technical capability to delete data on Ukrainian citizens who are not conscripts, persons liable for military service, or reservists due to inconsistencies in the regulatory framework," the Ground Forces said.
The Ground Forces command has submitted a number of proposals to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defense aimed at eliminating gaps and shortcomings in the Oberih system.
This issue remains under constant review, and all identified inconsistencies are being thoroughly analyzed. The Ground Forces command stressed that it is open to dialogue and interested in resolving the problem.
"If you discover incorrect data about yourself in the Oberih system, please contact the Ground Forces hotline at 0 800 301 937," the statement said.
As reported, some media outlets had claimed that certain women were unlawfully registered for military service and even declared wanted.
On March 30, draft law No. 15116 was registered in the Verkhovna Rada, aimed at creating a mechanism to correct errors made by territorial recruitment and social support centers without lengthy court proceedings. A group of MPs proposed amendments that would allow women mistakenly included in the Oberih register to restore their rights through a simplified procedure.
