The drone attack on the region began late Sunday. By 6 a.m. on Monday, March 23, more than 50 drones had been shot down, Drozdenko said.
In the village of Izora in the Gatchinsky district, a residential building was damaged, with windows blown out in three apartments. No injuries were reported.
According to Astra, citing CCTV analysis, the damage was likely caused by a Russian air defense missile detonating during an interception.
The incident occurred about one kilometer from the VISKOM defense enterprise, a manufacturer of close-combat weapons, explosives, and specialized equipment.
Russia’s Defense Ministry said 249 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones were intercepted overnight across multiple regions, including Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, Leningrad, Moscow, and others, as well as over the Sea of Azov.
Temporary restrictions were also imposed at Pulkovo Airport, where 10 flights were delayed and seven canceled between midnight and 6 a.m.
Ukraine has not officially confirmed the attack so far.
A Ukrainian strike on an oil depot in Labinsk, Krasnodar Krai, a key logistics hub for Russian forces, on March 16 reportedly led to the near-total destruction of its storage tank farm.
According to Astra, citing regional emergency services, four drones struck the facility, triggering a massive fire that engulfed around 3,000 square meters. As a result, 18 of 20 storage tanks burned – including nine gasoline and nine diesel tanks – along with seven fuel tankers.
No injuries were reported, and operations at the facility have been suspended.
Labinsk district head Vladimir Zaburayev described the situation as “stable,” while Rospotrebnadzor reported no dangerous levels of pollutants in the air.
The depot, owned by Yugnefteprodukt, is one of the largest in the region, with a storage capacity of 9,000 cubic meters. It supplies fuel – including AI-80, AI-92, and AI-95 gasoline, diesel, and lubricants – across Krasnodar and Stavropol Krais, Rostov Oblast, and Adygea.
The strike followed a series of recent drone attacks on fuel infrastructure in the region, including fires at facilities near Tikhoretsk on March 12 and 15, reportedly affecting the Tikhoretskaya LPDS and the nearby Tikhoretsk-Nafta terminal.
