Ukrainian launched a missile strike on Russia’s Belgorod and the surrounding district on the morning of July 3, the regional emergency operations center reported.
A local woman was killed. Belgorod Mayor Valentin Demidov said she suffered shrapnel wounds while inside a car and died before an ambulance could reach her.
The operations center said a fire broke out at an infrastructure facility. Energy infrastructure also sustained “serious damage,” it added.
Several municipalities are experiencing disruptions to electricity and water supplies.
The Telegram channel Pepel (“Ashes”) reported that the strike hit the Yuzhna substation on Gubkina Street and a substation on the grounds of the GT TEC Energo plant on Michurina Street.
