A Ukrainian drone struck a four-story residential building in Syzran in the early hours of April 22, the Emergency Situations Ministry’s regional office for Samara Region said. One entrance of the building was destroyed.
Eleven people were injured, including two children. Four people, including a child, were pulled from the rubble, the Emergency Situations Ministry said. Debris removal had not been completed at the time of publication.
The building is at 8 Astrakhanskaya Street, according to geolocated footage reviewed by Astra, an independent Telegram channel, which reported the finding. The Syzran oil refinery, owned by Rosneft, sits on Astrakhanskaya Street and has been targeted by Ukrainian drones on multiple previous occasions.
A second residential building in Syzran was also hit in the drone attack, the Ukrainian monitoring Telegram channel Exilenova+ reported.
The Russian security services-linked Telegram channel Mash also reported that a drone strike ignited a fire on the sixth floor of a nine-story building. Debris from the drone hit cars parked outside; two burned. Residents were evacuated, and no injuries were reported.
