The US Embassy in Jordan issued an alert to its citizens amid Iranian strikes, urging them to seek shelter and remain indoors.
Iran targeted several key facilities used by US forces at the al-Azraq airbase in the country.
"We can confirm the death of a US government employee assigned to US Embassy Rangoon," a State Department spokesperson said, without providing additional details.
