Over the past day, May 7, a total of 208 combat engagements between Ukraine's Defense Forces and Russian invaders were recorded on the front line.
According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated this on Facebook regarding the situation as of 08:00 on Friday, May 8.
The enemy launched one missile strike using a single missile, carried out 99 airstrikes, and dropped 292 guided aerial bombs.
In addition, Russian forces deployed 9,113 kamikaze drones and conducted 3,126 shelling attacks on populated areas and Ukrainian military positions, including 131 attacks using multiple launch rocket systems.
The Russian army carried out airstrikes, particularly in the areas of Velyka Pysarivka in Sumy Region, as well as Liubytske, Verkhnia Tersa, Vozdvyzhivka, and Dolynka in Zaporizhzhia Region.
Ukraine's Air Force, missile forces, and artillery struck six command posts, four areas where enemy personnel were concentrated, and one Russian artillery system.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, ten combat clashes occurred. The enemy carried out 108 attacks on Ukrainian positions and populated areas, including 23 using multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, Russian forces launched six assaults on Ukrainian positions near Prylipka, Starytsia, Lyman, and toward Izbytske.
In the Kupiansk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled four Russian attacks near Radkivka and Novoplatonivka.
In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian troops repelled 13 attempts by the invaders to advance near Kovalivka, Drobysheve, Stavky, Dibrova, and Lyman.
In the Sloviansk sector, the Defense Forces repelled one attempt by Russian troops to advance near Rai-Oleksandrivka.
In the Kramatorsk sector, the enemy conducted no offensive operations.
In the Kostiantynivka sector, Russian troops carried out nine attacks near Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, Rusyn Yar, Pleshchiivka, and Ivanopillia.
In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian defenders stopped 33 assault actions by the aggressor near the settlements of Bilytske, Nykyforivka, Rodynske, Novooleksandrivka, Pokrovsk, Novopavlivka, Toretske, Nove Shakhove, Udachne, Molodetske, Hryshyne, and Kotlyne, as well as in the directions of Hannivka, Novopavlivka, and Shevchenko.
In the Oleksandrivka sector, Russian forces attacked three times near Kalynivske and Oleksandrohrad.
In the Huliaipole sector, 23 attacks by Russian invaders took place near Rybne, Dobropillia, Sviatopetrivka, Pryluky, Zaliznychne, Staroukrainka, Verkhnia Tersa, Zaporizhzhia, Charivne, and Olenokostiantynivka.
In the Orikhiv sector, the enemy attempted six times to advance near Shcherbaky and Stepnohirsk.
In the Prydniprovske sector, Ukrainian defenders stopped three attacks toward the Antonivskyi Bridge and Bilohrudyi Island.
No signs of enemy offensive group formations were detected in the Volyn and Polissia sectors.
As Ukrinform reported, Russia's total combat losses from February 24, 2022, to May 8, 2026, in the war against Ukraine amount to approximately 1,339,190 personnel, including 1,130 over the past day.
