Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Saturday said it targeted an oil tanker in the Gulf near the Strait of Hormuz using a drone, according to Iran’s Tasnim news agency.
The vessel, identified as the Prima, was described as ignoring repeated warnings from the IRGC Navy about navigation in the area.
Marine tracking data shows the Prima is an oil and chemical tanker sailing under the flag of Malta.
Several launch sites identified in western and central Iran were also struck in order to reduce the scope of fire directed at the State of Israel.
