Military supremacy is engraved into the existential code of Israelis. This has been even truer since October 7, 2023, and has effectively become an axiom. Even speculating that the Middle East will enjoy a military balance by Israel accepting the presence of another regional power that can pose limits on its power, can provoke deep anxiety not only among right-wingers, but liberals and left-wingers too.
