As a young defense attorney, I once represented a man who was suspected of assaulting a police officer. The police claimed that the man resisted arrest and caused an injury to the policeman's hand. They even showed the judge a medical report when they applied for the arrest warrant. My client claimed that he was actually the one who was assaulted – punched and kicked. But who will believe the suspect when a bunch of police officers say otherwise?
