On the night of April 22, a Russian drone attacked a marshaling yard at the Zaporizhzhia-Live railway station, killing a train engineer's assistant.
According to Ukrinform, Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine and Minister for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine Oleksii Kuleba reported this on Telegram.
He stated, “Russia attacked the railway. Last night, an enemy UAV struck the marshaling yard at the Zaporizhzhia-Live station. At the moment of the strike, a train with an electric locomotive was on the tracks. The assistant engineer was fatally injured. The man died."
The engineer was hospitalized, Kuleba added.
The Russians also targeted port infrastructure in Odesa. Fires broke out as a result of the drone strikes. There were no casualties. The deputy prime minister noted that berths, warehouses, railway infrastructure, and port operators’ facilities were damaged.
As reported by Ukrinform, on the night of April 20, the Russians struck railway infrastructure facilities in the Kharkiv region.
