Two children — ages 5 and 14 — were killed in a Ukrainian drone attack on Tuapse, Krasnodar Region Governor Veniamin Kondratyev said. Two adults were also injured.
The drones struck Krasnodar Region in the early hours of April 16. Falling debris damaged five private homes and one apartment building in Tuapse, Kondratyev said, and also came down on the grounds of industrial facilities near the city’s seaport.
Debris also fell in Loo, a settlement near Sochi, damaging a canopy and shattering windows in a two-story private home. No injuries were reported there.
The independent Telegram channel Astra reported, citing footage from witnesses, that a fire broke out at the Tuapse oil refinery following the drone strike.
Russia’s Defense Ministry reported that air defense systems shot down 207 Ukrainian drones overnight over the Belgorod, Smolensk, Kursk, Bryansk, and Oryol regions, Krasnodar Region, Russian-occupied Crimea, and the Black and Azov seas.
