A fire broke out at the St. Petersburg Oil Terminal in Russia's St. Petersburg on Saturday amid reports of a drone threat.

As Ukrinform reports, Telegram channel Astra stated this is according to an OSINT analysis.

According to the report, smoke was seen rising over the Coal Harbor area in the southeastern part of St. Petersburg following warnings of a possible drone attack.

Based on its analysis of available footage and satellite data, Astra concluded that the fire occurred on the premises of JSC St. Petersburg Oil Terminal. The facility is located near the Port of St. Petersburg and is used for the transshipment of crude oil and petroleum products between rail, pipeline, and maritime transport.

An Astra analyst noted that one of the videos from the scene appeared to show a railway tank car burning on nearby tracks rather than a fuel storage tank. However, the report said the attack was ongoing and the number of fire locations was increasing.

After 04:00, Alexander Drozdenko, governor of Russia's Leningrad region, warned of a drone threat in the airspace and possible reductions in mobile internet speeds.

An hour later, Drozdenko claimed that two drones had been shot down over the region. By 88:00, he said that Russian air defenses had allegedly downed 67 drones over the region.

Before the attacks, the St. Petersburg Oil Terminal occupied an area of 37 hectares and contained 21 storage tanks for petroleum products. The terminal has an annual throughput capacity of 12.5 million tonnes and has been designated a strategically important enterprise for Russia's security.

Meanwhile, residents of Belgorod reported fires, power outages, and disruptions to water supplies following overnight attacks.

The local Telegram channel Pepel published footage of what it claimed was a fire at the Luch thermal power plant. By around 01:00, the missile alert had reportedly been lifted.

On Friday evening, Belgorod's regional water utility reported power outages affecting water supply facilities.

Governor Alexander Shuvalov said that infrastructure facilities had been damaged in the attack, causing interruptions to electricity and water supplies and resulting in several fires at infrastructure sites.

According to the Russian-language service of the BBC, Alexander Brechalov, head of Russia's Udmurt Republic, said a missile had attempted to strike an enterprise in the region but was allegedly intercepted by air defenses.

Russia's Ministry of Defense claimed that 389 drones had been shot down between Friday evening and Saturday morning.

According to the ministry, drones were allegedly intercepted over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Vladimir, Kaluga, Kursk, Lipetsk, Leningrad, Novgorod, Oryol, Pskov, Rostov, Ryazan, Saratov, Smolensk, Tver, and Tula regions, as well as over Krasnodar Krai, the Moscow region, temporarily occupied Crimea, and the Azov and Black seas.

As Ukrinform previously reported, on July 2, the Security Service of Ukraine, together with other components of Ukraine's Defense Forces, struck the Nizhny Novgorod Oil Refinery and the Starolikeyevo oil pumping station in Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod region.
